Mitsubishi Electric to Restructure North American Operations
TOKYO, February 6, 2026 - Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) announced today that, effective July 1, it will restructure its North American operations among three group companies: Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc., which oversees all operations in North America in addition to handling sales of elevators and escalators, cooling and heating solutions, semiconductor devices; Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc., which handles sales and servicing of factory automation (FA) equipment and computer numerical control (CNC) systems in North America; and Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America, Inc., which manufactures and sells automotive equipment in North America.
By integrating Mitsubishi Electric Automation’s sales and servicing of FA equipment and CNC systems, Mitsubishi Electric US expects to strengthen data utilization and cross-business solutions, ultimately to enhance its service capabilities and expand North American FA systems business.
Furthermore, Mitsubishi Electric US will integrate the support functions of both Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America and Mitsubishi Electric Automation to standardize processes and systems, enabling the company’s support functions to become Centers of Excellence (CoEs) that centralize expertise, resources and best practices to drive efficiency and innovation.
Mitsubishi Electric US will also become responsible for the Mason facility of Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America. Converting the Mason facility into a Mitsubishi Electric US asset will enable the facility to also function as a manufacturing and service base for FA equipment and CNC systems, not just automotive equipment. In addition, shared cross-business warehousing and supply chain management will improve operational efficiency. However, Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America will continue to operate its existing automotive equipment business in North America.
The restructuring will align with parent company Mitsubishi Electric’s ongoing enhancement of corporate value on a global scale. Mitsubishi Electric is committed to evolving into an “Innovative Company” that takes calculated risks to generate innovative ideas for new value creation and new business development, as well as to address evolving market demands and contribute to global society and the environment.
